EP Ballet Company

En Pointe Ballet Company allows the dedicated student to increase their focus on technique and artistry through a curriculum centered on Classical Ballet. This audition based company consists of Pre-Academy and Academy dancers. EP Ballet Company is a performance group that represents the studio through community outreach and various events. Classes will be in addition to the dancers current training every week.

En Pointe Ballet Company (EP Ballet Company) offers an immersive, audition-based program designed to refine technique, deepen artistry, and expand performance experience. Dancers participate in weekly company classes in addition to their regular studio training. The company includes Trainees and Company Member levels and performs throughout the community, including the One Act Ballet: Thumbelina

Annual Structure

The year is divided into four units: Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall

Unit 1: Winter Technique Foundations (January-March)Focus Areas

· Classical ballet technique foundation

· Ballet conditioning and strength training

· Contemporary fundamentals

· Thumbelina rehearsals in class begin (February)

Weekly Schedule

Monthly Rotation:

Weeks 1–2: Ballet Technique + Choreography/Rehearsals (Starting in Feb)

Week 3: Contemporary Technique

Week 4: Dance Studies/ Master Classes (guest teachers, artistry workshops, anatomy, dance history, injury prevention)

Trainees - Ballet Technique: Center and Across-the-Floor Progressions - Contemporary Foundations 1 - Company Rehearsal: Thumbelina

Company Members - Ballet Technique: Barre and Center - Contemporary Technique 2 – Improv- Storytelling through Movement- Character Development, Company Rehearsal: Thumbelina

Goals

· Establish ballet vocabulary

· Begin choreography for Thumbelina

· Strengthen technique to support choreography demands

· Master ballet progressions

Unit 2: Spring Development & Artistry (April-June)Focus Areas

· Increased complexity in ballet technique

· Artistry: port de bras, musical phrasing, breathing

· Contemporary choreography exploration

Company Members - Ballet Technique: Extensions, Turn Sequences, Adagio Quality - Contemporary: Partnering- Emotional Dynamics

· Deepen emotional connection in movement

· Introduce artistic intention in class combinations

· Encourage exploration and creativity in contemporary sessions
